the advice & Consent aforesaid, That if any Ordinary keeper
keeping evill Rule and Order in his house and suffering Extra-
ordinary drinking fightg and Quarrelling in his house, upon
Complaint made thereof to the Justices of the County Court
of such Ordinary keepers misbehaviour of himself or keeping
evill Rule in his house the said Justices of the said County
Court may and are hereby Authorized and Impowered to
suppress such Ordinary and call in such Lycence And be it
further Enacted That any Ordinary keeper disabled or sup.

pressed as aforesaid or any other pson that shall presume to
keep Ordinary without Lycence first had and obteyn'd as
aforesaid, shall for every month he or they shall keep Ordi-
nary as aforesaid forfeit and pay Tenn thousand pounds of
Tobacco, one half to their Majesties and the other half to him
or them that shall sue for the same, to be recovered in any
Court of Record within this Province by bill plaint or informa-
tion wherein no Essoyn Protection or Wager of Law shall be
allowed And lastly it is Enacted by the Authority aforesaid
That the Justices of the Provintiall Court, the Comissioners of
the respective County Courts shall give this Act in Charge to
the severall grand Jury's as also to the severall Comissrs of the
respective Courts, and the Magistrates of the said Citty to
their Severall and respective Constables to Enquire into the
breach of this Act and into all disorders Committed in
the said Ordinaries and present the same if any be to the
said Severall Courts there to be Examined and Punished
according to Law, this Act to continue for three years or to
the End of the next Generall Assembly which shall first
happen

English weights and measures within the
Severall & respective Counties in this Province.

Whereas dayly Experience sheweth that much fraud &
deceit is practiced in this Province of Maryland by false
Weights & Measures for preventing whereof for the future
Be it Enacted by the King and Queens most Excellent Maj-
esty by and with the advice & consent of this present Generall
Assembly and the Authority of the same, That no Inhabitant
or Trader hither shall buy or Sell or otherwise make use of
