C.S.C.

No. 58.

[Council to Capt. I. Taylor.]

Captn Igna Taylor
Sir. There is a man on board Captn Conway' s Sloop who
has the small Pox. He belongs to Saint Mary's County, and
has a desire to return there, but lest he may spread the Infec-
tion the greatest care, ought to be taken, which we are
desirous of doing. It is said that you are innoculating in your
House, we beg you will take him in, he has it favorably and
will soon be well. This we hope will not be inconvenient to
you, and perhaps will prevent the disorder from being com-
municated by him in Places not yet infected — any Expence or
Trouble you may be at on the occasion shall be thankfully
repaid you. If you are not innoculating in your House as we
are informed be soon so good as to get him into some House
that has the small pox.
P. S. If you cannot get the man
into a house, where the small Pox is,
then you will endeavour to get him
taken into some house where the
family have had that disease.
