[Council to Commissioners.]
Gentln
The Commissions that Col. Rumsey mentions in his letter
to Mr Tilghman were made and delivered to Dr Fisher who
says that he delivered them to Captain Meroney. The Dupli-
cates we now enclose you. The claim of our State to it's pro-
portion of the Back Lands is so just that we are pursuaded the
Convention will not give it up.
To the Commissioners appointed to repair to Camp for the
Enlistment of the Maryland Quota of the Continental Army
Novr 1st 1776

[Council to S. Duvall.]
Sir.
We do not recollect that we ever Empowered Mr Rudolph
to purchase Coal for our State, nor any other person except
Captain Berry by whom we send money.

[Council to Capt. Teams.]
Sir.
We cannot depart from the resolution of Convention and
therefore hope your men will enlist on the terms of deducting
the first bounty from the last ordered by Convention to be
advanced those Soldiers who may enter into the Continental
service.

Saturday, November 2d 1776.

Council met. Present as on yesterday.
Ordered That John Games of Captain Fulford's company
be discharged
Ordered That Chs Wallace Esqr Paymaster advance three
month's pay to Robert Shipley of Captn Watkins's company.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to James Taylor
twelve pounds.
Messrs Ringgold & Hemsley return an order on Western
shore Treasurer for the sum of five hundred Pounds.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to Saml Cheote
eighteen pounds.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Captain John Martin
fifty Pounds.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Colo Jeremiah Jordan,
for use of Thomas Hobb & Wm Thomas ten Pounds, thirteen
shillings, and six Pence.
