Also to Francis Neale appd Surgeon Assistant to said Bat-
talion.
Ordered That Western Shore Treasurer pay to Jeremiah
Satchwell forty shillings for a Gun.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay Colo Wm Fitzhugh for use
of Josh Vanswearingen three Pounds, seven shillings & nine
Pence for Amt Acct
Commissions issued to Benjamin Bradford Norriss appointed
Captain & Wm Smith 2d Lt of a Company in 8th Battalion in
Harford County.
Ordered That the memorial against Captain Joseph Byus
be taken into Consideration on Thursday the 24th Day of
October next, and he is hereby directed to attend the Council
of Safety on that day, to answer the charge against him
alledged.
John Hubbert, John Lee and Sarah Lee, Elijah Marshall,
Judah Marshall, Wm Bennett, Saml Hubbert and William Fra-
zier of Dorchester County are hereby ordered to attend &
testify their knowledge of and concerning the Facts contained
in the memorial aforesaid.
Ordered That Charles Wallace Esqr Paymaster advance
one month's pay to John Pratt of Captn Thomas's Company.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to Lt Levin
Lawrence fifty Pounds, to be accounted for.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to John Lamb five Pounds,
ten shillings for Boatage.
Adjourned 'till next Day 10 o'Clock.

Baltimore October 8th 1776.
Sirs. The bearer Capt William Worth has come from
Newengland to take charge of the schooner Dolley N: 10 that
was sunk at the alarm at Baltimore. There seems to be a
Anker and Cabbie missing. I have taken all the pains I am
capable of to find them but cannot and Capt Nicholson has put
a Vallew on such as hee soposed the ware for your considera-
tion. These things ware soposed to bee takken care of by the
people that sunk the vessels but wee cannot find them now,
and many such complaints are made, the settellment of which
must be left to you. He says their ware 2 gafs lost and has
the carpenter bills for their cost and tho higher Whille sunk
these things I make bold to mention at his request as hee has
been with mee this 10 days to sarch for the things and plead-
ing for a line to you stating his loses. It is strange what
became of the ankers and cabbies but they cannot now be
found. Can I sell any of your publick Bread. I think I could
