[Council to Baltimore Committee.]

The Committee of Obsn for Balto County
Gentn
We wrote you the 5th of June requesting you would render
a particular Acct of the expenditure of the [ ]1000 sent the 8th
March, to defray the expences of the militia on the alarm occa-
sioned by the Otter Sloop of War, and also to supply us with
yr vouchers for the general charges in the Acct of Monies
expended on the fortifications at Whetstone Point, but have
not yet been furnished with them; we again repeat that
request, and as we are anxious to have all our accts settled to
lay before the Convention, hope to have the above immedi-
ately transmitted to us

Cols Rumsey, Hollingsworth, & Major Parker
Gentn We have sent you the money you requested vizt
700 [ ], for Colo Hollingsworth, also [ ]500 for the Flying Camp
service; be pleased to apply for Linen for Tents to Major
Parker; and get them made where you can; perhaps they may
be got ready made at Baltimore Town, where we would have
you apply for Cartouch Boxes, Camp Kettles, Canteens, also
Knapsacks and Havresacks. Gerrard Hopkins our Deputy
Commissary will furnish you if there be any ready made — flints
we are not to furnish, unless it be sufficient for the Compys Guns,
we want much to see & converse with Colo Hollingsworth, and
therefore write no answer to his letter.

Head of Elk 28th Sept 1776.
Gentlemen. The troops having principally pass'd on, I have
for this few days past been collecting the account, in order to
lay them before your Honnours, for which purpose I intended
setting out this day for Annapolis, but yesterday had letters
from Colos Parker and Eyloit, of the Virgenia Forses, request-
ing that I would procure provisions, waggons and other nes-
sesarys for the 4th and 5th Virgenia rigements, and that they
would leave Williamsburge (as last Sunday) has retarded my
setting out and as I am in great want of cash, am imbouldened
to draw on your Honnours for seven hundred pounds, the accts
that I have collected, paid and assumed for, ammounts to one
thousand and fifty odd pounds. I have received of your Hon-
