[Council to Lux & Bowley.]
Messrs Lux & Bowley
We are told by Mr Stephen Steuard that you heretofore
engaged to furnish him with cordage for our armed vessels by
this time, but that you have not got any ready for him — we
are in very great want of that Article and desire to be imme-
diately enformed when you can supply him, that if it cannot
be done within a reasonable Time at yr Yard, we may en-
deavour to provide it some where else — disappointments of
this nature especially ought to be avoided, as the consequences
may prove very injurious.
