never took up arms against America. His Lordship after
that endeavoured to distress me by every means; at last I
formed the scheme of throughing myself upon the country
which I once injured to get clear of the most despotic wretch.
Hoping Gentlemen you will take my case into consideration,

Tuesday 13 August 1776.

Council met. Present the same members as on yesterday.
Copy of Letter No 132 was sent to Colo Wm Hyde.
Ordered That the Committee of Observation for Harford
County deliver to Colo Wm Hyde all the musquets and
Blankets in their possession, belonging to the Publick.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to Danl &
Saml Hughes two thousand Pounds, on Acct of his Contract
for a Cannon Foundery.
Commission issued to Wm Perry appointed Quarter master
to the 4th Battalion of militia, in the room of Nichs Thomas,
who resigned.
Ordered That Eastern shore Treasurer pay to Saml
Edmondson seventy Pounds Curry.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to Isaac
Simmonds five Pounds for two Guns.
Captain Campbell's Company was commissioned.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to Henry
Ridgely junr four Pounds, ten shillings, for a musquet &
Bayonet.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to Captn Wm
Waters one hundred and seventy five for a Boat.
Ordered That Commissy of Stores deliver to Stephen
Steuard ten Swivel guns with furniture, 72 Barrell of Cannon
Powder & 6W of Musquet Powder.
Adjourned till next day 10 o'clock.

Colo Wm Hyde
Sir.
As we are very desirous of having the Troops stationed at
Baltimore under yr command, armed as speedily as possible,
and as we are informed the Committee of Observation of
Harford County have about 60 stand belonging to this
Province, we request you will immediately send up for them,
and deliver them on receipt to your Companies. Inclosed you
have an order on the Committee for them.
Augt 13th 1776.
