in this County, if any others are at Balto willing to engage in
that way, you'll inform us of it, we will give you directions to
employ them. Tent poles are necessary to be made, we
suppose the Tent-makers procure them, if not, you must get
them made.
As soon as you inform us another Tent maker can be
found, we will order him the Cloath necessary.

[Somerville to Council.]

Gentlemen. Calvert County Augt 6th 1776.
At the request of Capt. Brooke I inform you that he
marched what men he had raised to Drum Point and con-
tinued there until the return of Capt. Beall's company, who
are now there. Capt. Brooke desires your orders when to
march his men to prevent their separating so as to make it
dificult to collect them when wanted.

[Sanderson to Council.]

To the Right Honourabel the Council of Safety sitting at the
City of Annapolis August 6th 1776. Gentlemen. The time I
made applycation to furnishing yo with Camp Kettels, I only
agreed with the Council for 300 Hundred, 150 against the
first of August, 150 against the first of Sept. I have these
contracts ready, should be glad to furnish the Council with
more if the want I have employed more hands for that
purpose, as I did not furnish them with only half the number
they wanted to contract with me for.
I'm Gentlemen The Councils most obedt Humble Servt

[Cecil County Committee to Council.]

In Committee Cecil County Aug 6th 1776.
Gentlemen.
We received by the hands of Captain Alexander £500.0.0
from your board for the purchasing arms &c for the use of
the troops raised in our County. We find it will be in our
power very speedily to collect a sufficient number of Blankets
for the use of those men raised here and perhaps more than
what they want. We will also do every thing we can, for
procuring musketts but are very doubtful whether we shall
be able to procure enough of them. There is a Gun Smith
here will undertake to repair any quantity of Guns that we
