[Yost to Council.]

George Town August 1^st 1776.
Gentlemen of the Council. I have received your Letter
dated the 23^rd of July and finding you desirous to know what
Compliment of arms I had ready for the Publick. I have
them all ready of the first contract including the Banyonets
which I expect this day with an Express that I have sent for
them. I have also been much detained in the last contract by
repairing old arms for the militia the Cor^l finding it very
necessary. If I am now not deceived in receiving the Banjonets
I hope I can dispatch all by the latter end of this week.

Friday 2^d August 1776.

Council met. Present the same members as on yesterday
except M^r Nicholson.
Copy of Letter N^o 105 was sent to Brigadier General
Hooper, Copy of N^o 106 to Committee of Observation for
Dorchester County, and Copy of N^o 107 to the Deputies of
this Province in Congress.
The Council appointed Christopher Richmond Esquire Pay-
master to Colonel Smallwood's Battalion of Regular Forces.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Benjamin Ogle Esquire twenty five Pounds five Shillings for
1010 lb Lead.
That the said Treasurer pay to John Grace twenty two
Pounds nine Shillings for the Carriage of Powder & Arms
from Philadelphia to the Magazine near Capt. Tootles.
Commissions issued to the following Officers of a Company
in Kent County belonging to the Eastern Shore Battalion of
Militia for the flying Camp, to wit

Copy of Letter N^o 108 was sent to Brigadier General Dent.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Mess^rs Jenifer and Hooe five hundred Pounds common Money.
