Gerrard Fowke Ensign 27. ——

Ordered That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Capt
John Dean 31 Cartouch Boxes, 60 Gunslings 14 Ironpots 01
Kettles, 1 Bolt of Oznaburgs and one Quire of Cartridge
Paper.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
the Clerk twenty Pounds for Expresses.
Copy of Letter No 98 was sent to Mr Isaac Griest.
Adjourned till next Day 10 O' Clock.

We should be obliged to you, if you would inform us by
letter how soon you can comply with the inclosed Resolve.

[Council to A. Buchanan.]

Mr. Archd Buchanan
Sir.
Inclosed you have a copy of the agreement made between
the Council of Safety and Messrs Galloway & Steward.
Two Gallies are not yet contracted for, and as a favorable
representation has been made of the skill and diligence of
the workmen in your yard, and we place great confidence in
you, if you can contract to build them by the 15th Day of Novr
next at furthest, & will enter into a similar engagement with
the inclosed, we are inclined to give you a preference.
You are desired to attend the Council to enter into a contract
& receive a Draught of the Row Gallies as soon as possible.

[Council to Schley.]
Mr Jacob Schley
Sir. The public service requires that you should send to
this place with all the expedition you can, the rifles by you
made for the use of the Province, also the ten large rifles con-
tracted by you to be made and delivered on the first day of
Augt next. We therefore earnestly request you will comply
with your engagements.
30th July 1776
