Wednesday 24 July 1776.

Council met. Present the same members as on yesterday.
Mr Rumsey attended.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Capt William Grayble One hundred Pounds to subsist his
Company of Germans.
Copy of Letter No 71 was sent to the Committee of Obser-
vation for Skipton District.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Capt. James Hindman twenty pounds to defray the Expence
of the Carriage of 8 Barrels of Gunpowder and 800 lb Lead
from Annapolis to Frederick County.
That the said Treasurer pay to William Niven twenty six
Pounds twelve shillings and seven Pence, the Amount of his
Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to Walter Wright three Pounds
for 6 Cord Wood.
That the said Treasurer pay to Capt. Thomas Yates forty
Pounds to be accounted for.
That the said Treasurer pay to John Mcffadon four hundred
Pounds to enable him to carry on a linen manufactory.
Warrant issued to James Howard appointed second Lieu-
tenant of Capt. Daniel Dorsey's Company of Militia in the
Room of John Ohara who resigned.
Adjourned till next Day 10 O'Clock.

Sir.
We have in consequence of yours of the 15th Instant sent to
Frederick Town Eight hundred and Six pounds of Lead and
have desired the Committee of the middle District to forward
it to you.
