procured houses at Drum Point which we thought were suf-
ficient but finding that the Resolves of Convention in Decr last
only oblige us to find the troops sufficient accommodations
during the winter season. We are of opinion that we cannot
engage our county in any expence of buildg Barracks: —

Thursday 13 June 1776.

Met according to Adjournment. Present the same Members
as on yesterday.
Cornelius Hogans being ordered to be brought under Guard
before this Board, was brought accordingly. And the said
Hogans acknowledging great Contrition for his Offence, It
was ordered that he be discharged upon recognizing as
follows.
" You Cornelius Hogans and William Richardson do severally
acknowledge yourselves to stand indebted to the Honble
Daniel of St Thomas Jenifer Esqr President of the Council of
Safety of Maryland in the Sum of One hundred Pounds
Sterling each, to be levied of your Goods and Chattels, Lands
and Tenements in Case the said Cornelius Hogans shall not
conform to the Rules and Regulations of the Convention of
this Province and conduct himself in all Things agreeable
thereto for twelve months henceforward."
The said Cornelius Hogans and William Richardson acknow-
ledged themselves to be content.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Col. William Richardson twelve Pounds common money for
the use of Henry Downes Junior for his Services two months,
ending 10th Instant, as Adjutant to Colonel Richardson's Bat-
talion of Militia.
Ordered That the said Treasurer pay to Mr Robert Pur-
viance six hundred Pounds common money on Account of the
Schooner Resolution.
Ordered That the said Treasurer pay to Mr William Lux
five hundred Pounds like money on Account of the said
Schooner.
Copy of Letter N 22 was sent to Robert Alexander
Esquire.
Adjourned till next Day 10 O'Clock.
