and received £150 Curry, per Advance. We are now in
great Want of the Guns, and the Time being past we request
you would let us have them as soon as possible, or at least as

many as you have ready, they may be delivered to the Order
of Major Price at Frederick Town. We also expect you will
comply with your further Contract for the Delivery of 25 Mus-
kets with like Accoutrements at George Town per Month :
the Time commences on the 14th of this Instant. We are
much surprized that we have not had some Guns delivered us
heretofore from your Shop.

[Council to Unseld.]

To Mr John Unseld (Fredk City)
Sir.
On the 14th of December 1775, you entered into an Engage-
ment to make and deliver on or before the first Day of May
1776 to the Council of Safety or their Order, at George Town
or Baltimore Town eighty good substantial proved Muskets
3 1/2 Feet in the Barrell 3/4 Inch in the Bore, with good double
bridle Locks, black Walnut or Maple Stocks & plain strong
Brass mounting, Bayonets with steel Blades 17 inches long,
steel Ramrods, double Screws, priming Wires and Brushes
fitted thereto with a pair of brass Moulds to cast twelve Bullets
on one Side & on the other Side to cast shot of such a size as
the Musketts will chamber three of them.
Twenty nine Muskets very roughly made with Pickers and
Wipers and one Bullet Mould have been delivered but not one
Bayonet. The Residue of the Arms and the Bayonetts &c are
immediately wanted, the Province has been greatly disap-
pointed by your Non Compliance with your Contract, We
therefore require you will immediately send them on Pain of
answering all the evil Consequences that may ensue.

[Barrister Carroll to Council.]

Gentlemen. The inclosed were brought to me yesterday
by Mr William Smith wh I promised him I would transmit to
you by the first oppertunity. I sent for Mr Hopkins as You
desired and directed him to send half the linens to Annapolis
by the Defence or her tender but they had set off before he
returned to town, Be pleased to write to him whether he
may hire a boat and now send them with safety to you I have
been so much out of order that I have not been able to Call on
