Gun Powder, to be sent them by Col. Joshua Beall, to the
Committee of Observation for St Mary's County; and 1 Bar-
rel and 10 Kegs of the same Powder to the Committee of
Calvert County; Also 600 lb Lead to the Committee of St
Mary's County, and 600 lb Lead to the Committee of Calvert
County, for the use of the said Counties.
Adjourned till next Day 10 O'Clock.

To the Delegates in Convention.
Gentn
Very urgent Affairs of the Province require your attendance
in Convention, We therefore earnestly request you would
meet personally at Annapolis on Tuesday the 7th of May next,
at which Time we have determined a Convention ought to be
held.

[Council to Maryland Deputies.]
To the Deputies for Maryland in Congress.

You have our Thanks for the Anxiety you express on our
Accounts, if the Thanks of such blackened insulted (but we
think injured) Characters are worth your Acceptance. We
must say that if the same Justice were done to us, that we
would do unto others in similar Circumstances, a Copy of the
anonymous Letter you mention traducing our Reputations
would not have been refused us by the Congress — for we sin-
cerely declare to you and the World, that were we in posses-
sion of any Paper reflecting in so gross a Manner on that or
any other respectable Body on the Continent, we should think
it unjust and ungentlemanly to withhold it from them, and by
thus secreting prevent the Discovery of the Author of so foul
a Calumny, and shelter him from the Censure, not to say, Pun-
ishment he deserves.
We wrote you fully in our two last Letters, and sent Copies
of all such Papers as we thought material — the Governor vol-
untarily gave us his Parole in the fullest Manner, and has since
confirmed it by Letter, assuring us that he will not leave the
Province 'till the Convention sets; we are firmly persuaded
he will not stir, or do any Thing against the Peace thereof —
he also assured us in the most explicit Terms, that he had
