Sir, You'll please to purchase whatever Turpentine may
be necessary for the use of the gun carriages now preparing ;
and in case any person who has it, refuses to sell it to you, you
must take it, and the price thereof shall be allowed by the

Somerset County April 5th 1776.
Gentlemen. Mr Benjamin Brook will wait on you for the
sum of three hundred and fifty pounds for the use of the Inde-
pendent Company in Somerset County which sum please let
him have as the Company is much in want of Cash at this
time.

Council met. Present as yesterday.
Ordered That the Commissary of Stores at Baltimore Town
send down by the Waggon which comes with Powder &c.
Part of the Shirting and other coarse Linen, and two hundred
of the Hats lately arrived from Philadelphia.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Capt John Fulford three hundred and thirty eight Pounds
