your brother Charles (or midle) Battalion of this County, they
are wanting for Evins, Savins, Alexanders, Moffitts and Hen-
dersons. They were mislayed by Mr Ramsay when he was
sick at the late Convention, after I came away and I understand
they were left at the land office which is kept at Mr Peals near
the church where he bordcd if it may be in your power to find
them out and send them by the post or any other opportunity
directed to your brother or myself it will oblige.

[Maryland Deputies to Council.]
Philadelphia 25th february 1776
Gentn
Mr Alexander Ross, a Gentleman of our acquaintance, has
applied to us to procure for him from Congress, a pasport to
Lord Dunmore, upon whom he says he has a very consider-
able claim, which he hopes he shou'd be able to secure, cou'd
he have an opportunity of making a personal demand. From
the multiplicity of business now before the Congress an appli-
cation of this kind wou'd be attended with great delay, and as
a licence from your Honourable Board will be at least as
effectual, we take the liberty of recommending him to your
indulgence, being well persuaded he will religiously observe
any injunctions you may think proper to lay him under.

Baltimore-Town, Monday 26 Feb 1776
Council met. Present as on Saturday last except Mr Hall.
Mr Jenifer & Mr Carroll attended.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Lieutenant John Eccleston thirty five Pounds on Account of
Capt Thomas Woolford's Company.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Eastern Shore pay to
Capt Edward Veazey two hundred Pounds for Subsist and
Advance money for his Recruits.
Ordered That the said Treasurer pay to Capt Edward Veazey
three hundred and fifty Pounds on Account of his Company.
Adjourned till next Day 10 O'Clock.
