A Letter was received from the Committee of Correspon-
dence for Queen Anne's County, and answered (vid. No 26).
And a Copy of Letter No 27 sent to Col. Peter Waters of Som-
erset County.

Commissions issued to Planner Williams Captain, Benjamin
Schoolfield, 1 Lieut, Ebenezer Finley 2d Lieut. & Thomas
Williams Ensign of a Company of Militia in Somerset County.
Also to William Fountain Captain, Daniel Maddux, 1 Lieut,
Stoughlin Maddux 2d Lieut, and Collin Fountain Ensign of a
Company of Militia in said County, both belonging to the 17th
Battalion.
A Letter was received from Captain James Hindman and
answered (vid No 28.)
Mr Hall has Leave of Absence.
Councils adjourns to Baltimore Town till Monday next

[Council to Dashiell.]

To Colo George Dashiell.
Sir:
We received yours of the 10th Instant inclosing a List of
Officers for Capt Wales's Company who you say has resigned :
this may be the case but the Council of Safety think it not
regular to issue new Commissions until the old ones are trans-
mitted to us and therefore have not sent them. We have
before us also a Petition from the Eden School Company for
a change of Officers, their Capt Andrew Adams, they allege
had a Commission made out by the Convention surreptitiously
and fraudulently: this we think ought most properly to be
referred to the Convention themselves which will meet again
in April and all parties will then have an opportunity of being
heard. We cannot think of displacing Officers appointed by
the Convention without a full Hearing and we recommend an
Application to them as most proper under all Circumstances
and are
24 Febry, 1776

Ann's County
Gentn
We have received your Letter respecting the Minute Com-
pany under the command of Capt. Kent and are much obliged
to you for communicating to us the Contents of his Letter.
