tions with all convenient Speed so as in all human Probability
to prevent the Men of War approaching said Town, then the
Bond to be void otherwise to be and remain in full Force &
Virtue in Law. Which Bond was taken accordingly [and filed].
Instructions and sailing Orders are given to Joseph Oakman
Captain of the Sloop Two Sisters.
Ordered, That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Mr Daniel Grant four pounds ten shillings for the use of his
Room.
Council adjourns to the City of Annapolis till Tuesday next.

To Mr. Stephen West
3d Feby 1776
Sir The Council of Safety have been informed that you
have a Number of Gun Locks to dispose of, if that be the Case,
you will be pleased to let them know by the first Opportunity
what Number you have and the Price also whether they are
single or double bridled Locks. You wrote for an Order on
the Treasury for Powder delivered the Committee, — send up
their Receipt for the Quantity delivered, and your Order will
be made out at any Time when your Receiver may attend for
the Cash.

[Lindenberger and McClellan to Council.]

Gentlemen. We propose paying you 3/9 pr pound for
refined salt petre and 6 pr pound for refined sulphur delivered
to us. The Charcoal we will find, and deliver the gunpowder
at the mill for 5/ pr pound, provided you will take in powder
to the amount of what money you will lend us for buying a
mill seat and building the mill, and likewise, to the amount for
materials we shall receive of you

Dr Sir. I have reviewed the Drugs medicines &c & find
there will be about £250 not exceeding £300 cury Including
the shops apparatus. Any thing that is hurt in quality shall
not be included, the terms I told you would be 150 on the first
cost, & I can produce the original Invoices. I am
