this Province, together with all Fines, Forfeitures, and Amurc-
ments arising and becoming due unto us in any of our Courts
of Iudicature, or otherwise within our said Province, according
to the Laws, Customs and reasonable usage of our said Prov-
ince, hereby Giving and Granting unto you our said Treas-
urer or Receiver Genl full Power and authority, to ask,

demand, Collect, & receive of all Persons whatsoever therein
concerned, all and Singular our dues and duties aforesaid,
and for your better and more easy putting in Execution
hereof, to nominate, constitute and appoint, and depute under
you in each respective County within this Province, or where
you shall see Convenient one or more Deputy or Deputys for
the due managing, performing and executing, the powers and
Authority hereby given and granted you, for which Deputy
or Deputies you are also to be accountable as for your self
and a true, exact, and just Accot of your own and their pro-
ceedings, you are fairly to keep, and the same render to us or
our Captain Generall, or chief Governor of our said Province,
now or hereafter for the time being, therein Constituted,
Authorised, and Appointed, when and as often as you shall
be thereunto required, and Wee do hereby straightly Charge
and Command all and singular our Officers & Majistrates
civil and Military, within our said Province, and others the
good People Inhabitants of the same, to be aiding and assisting
unto you our said Treasurer and Receiver General & your
respective Deputies to the utmost of their Skill and power, in
the due execution hereof, to have and to hold the Place and
Office of Treasurer and Receiver Generall aforesaid, to you
the said Thomas Tench for and during Pleasure, with such
reasonable sallary and allowance for the same as in such case
hath heretofore been usually allowed and given; Witness our
trusty and well beloved Lionel Copley Esqr Captain Generall
and Governor in chief in and over our Province and Territory
of Maryland aforesaid the 16th day of August in the Fourth
Year of our Reign &ca Anno Dom 1692
