Mr Peregrine Brown, who with his Brother Iohn Brown have
been over diligently active in disturbing the Government
vilifying and aspersing their Majesties Officers & Ministers
of State and Justice here, and endeavouring to create in the

People a Dislike and Aversion towards them, and all through

Malice and Jnstigation of the said Frisby, as by Our Address
We have more at large declared We humbly pray your Lord-
ships favour to represent the same to their Majesties for and

Letter to Col: Copley about the prohibiting
nf Bulk Tobacco:

Trusty and Welbeloved we Greet you well.
Whereas it hath been humbly represented to us that it
would be of very great advantage to our service and to the
Navigation of England and to all the fair Traders in Tobacco
that a Law should be made within that our Province and Ter-
ritory of Maryland for prohibiting the exportation of Bulk
Tobacco from thence or the Importation thereof into England
or any other parts We have thought fit upon mature consid-
eration of this matter hereby to signify Our Will and Pleasure
to you that you do all that in you lyes to procure the passing
of such a Law within our said Province and Territory at the
next Assembly or as soon as may be. And for so doing this
shall be your Warrant And so we bid you farewell. Given
at our Court at Whitehall the nineteenth day of July 1692, in
the fourth year of our reign.
