Minute of the Committee for £500 to Coll: Copley out of
the Maryland Bills.

At the Committee of Trade and Plantations
At the Councill Chamber at Whitehall
the 11th of December 1691.

Present.
Lord President. Master of the Rolls
Mr Vice Chamberlain. Sir Henry Goodrick

His Majesty having thought fitt on the 15th of October last
to declare his Pleasure in Councill that out of the proceed of
the Bills remitted from the convention in Maryland for the
sume of one thousand and seventy pounds, sixteen shillings
and two pence for one moiety of the last year's duty of two
shillings per hoggshead and for the 14d per Tun in that Prov-
ince, the sume of six hundred pounds with such further sume
as should remain after the deduction of 14d per Tun. and one
fourth part of the said moiety of the duty of two shillings per
hoggshead for the buying of Armes and Amunition should be
allowed unto Colonel Copley in consideration of his Attend-
ance and expence relating to the Government of Maryland
and in satisfaction of his salary untill Michaelmas last, as in
the said order is more at large exprest. And the Lords of
the Committee of Trade and Plantations having understood
from Mr Peter Paggen that in pursuance of his Majestie's said
order of the 15th of October last and a subsequent warrant
from the Right Honble the Lords Commissioners of the
Treasury he is ready to deliver Bills to the Receiver Generall
of the customes for the sume of eight hundred pounds part of
the said sume of one thousand and seventy pounds sixteen
shillings and twopence desiring that he may retain in his
hands Bills for the remainder as paid by him to the Agents of
Maryland by Order of the Convention of that Province And
