Original.

Majr Long newly
Elected for baltemore
County: prsents him-
selfe.

Major Thomas Long and presents
himselfe too This house as a Delegate Elected
for the County of Baltemore in the place of
Mr Miles Gibsone disabled from sitting in

this house by reasone of the office of Sherriffe Conferred On
him Mr Carvile sent to the Chancellor to Inquire for the
returne of the writt of leccon of the said Major Long.

Capt Henry Johnson a member of this house being very sick
prayes         to be Asbent for the recovery of his health,

which is granted to him.

And is Admitted

Mr Carvile returnes and brings with him the
Indenture Witnessing the Eleccon of Major

Thomas Long to serve as a Delegate for the County of Bal-
temore, wch being read and this house satisfyed with the Due
manner of this Election of the said Major Long, he Takes his
place, And the Indenture sent back to the Chancelk/s by Mr
Carvile

Coll Darnall from the vppr house, desires Mr Burford and
Mr Carvile may be sent to the vppr house.

The Committee for Advancement of Trade, Enter the house
with the bill for Advancement of Trade, Ingrossed and Ex-
amined.

of Trade sent vp

Mr Burford and Mr Carvile sent to the
vpper house with the sd and the message

ffollowing (viz')

Lower house of Assembly October the 18th 1683
This house have Caused the bill for Advancement of Trade
to be Twice read have passed the same to Ingrossment, but
haveing answere from the vppr house that the ports or places
Desired to be altered by the respective members of this house,
Could not be done in his Lopps Absence soe that the blanks
left in the sayd bill Could not yet bee filled vp: This house
notwithstanding desireing the dispatch of all matters before
them have sent vp the sayd bill as it is to The Consideraccon

of the vppr house Desireing likewise the Assent of the vppr
house to the bill for Eleccons, haveing layne soe long in the
vpper house since the Conference [at wch] time this house is
well Assured to have given sufficient Reasons] passing
