             Court and Testamentary Business, 1648.     445

     

          The charge of his Lps Attorney agst Blanch Howell. Liber A.

       That the Blanch, being to giue testimony uppon oath,

      touching a Bull, wch was in controuersy betweene Tho: Baker &

      Edw: Cottham, Came uoluntarily & made oath in the forest

      difference, nott being cited by writt: And hath committed a

      wilifull & uoluntary Penury therein.

       And thereuppon his LPS sayd Attorney requyreth in the

      behalfe of the Ld Propr tht the sd Blanch may be brought to

      condigne punishmt for the same.

       Vppon the foresd charge the deft denyeth tht shee hath com

      mitted any such periury & putteth her selfe to be tryed by the

      Jury. And the Jury returned their Verdict in writing Viz

      Guilty.

       And the Court adiudged tht the sd Blanch shall stand

      nayled in the Pillory, & loose both her eares. And this to

      be exequuted before any other busines in Court be proceeded

      vppon.

       wart to the Sheriffe ad Exequendu. And was Exequuted.

     

       Jno Medley demandeth of Marks Pheypo 500 l Tob. & Cask

      dew by Bill.

     

       wart to the Sheriffe to warne 1 2 able howsholders of this

      pro: to attend the Court tomorrow morning as Grand Jurors

      ret. as aforesd

     

       This day came Jno Nevill, & made OUr all his Crope of p. 211

      Tob. now hanging in his Tob. Howse, unto Walter Beane or

      his assignes (except what shall be dew for Country Leues this

      yeare) towards the paymt of a debt of 1 500 l Tob. the sd Jno

      Neuell confesseth to owe & stand indebted unto the sd Walter

      Beane

      Recog. Teste me                John + Neuell

        Willm Bretton Registr

     

       Vppon the Complt of Walter Smith plf agst Robt Clarke

      Gentn deft. in an accon of dammage of 2000 l Tob. & cask.

      The deft denyeth any such dammage. The plf wanting his

      euidence desyreth tht his suite may be respited till Jan: Court

      next. Wch was granted him.

     

       Thomas Gerrard Esqr the Attorney of Martin Johnson Maririr

      demandeth of the Estate of Tho: Allen deceased 300 l Tob &

      cask dew by Bill.

       Vppon the demand aforesd John Hatch admistrator & deft.

      denyeth the sd debt to bee dew, to any Attorney or assigne:

      ffor tht the Bill specifyeth to bee only payable to Martin

      Johnson.
