                  426    Court and Testamentary Business, 1648.

            

            Liber A.   them for any other reason or cause, but because they haue bene

                  heretofore manifestly conuicted of taking & possesing cattle

                  of the foresd Giles Brent & others iniuriously.

                  To the Sheriffe ret.

                   Decembr Court.

            

              p. 192 90 Octobr   The Gour & Councell haue determined

                  prnt Gouernor about the County charge this yeare & haue

                   C.  Giles Brent assessed all the summs before Specifyed

            

                  uppon the County of St Maries, wth this reseruaon That if att

                  the day of meeting wth the County the Gout shall find any

                  thing materially alleaged by the County, why the assesmt in

                  what concernes the Indian prisoners should be taken of the

                  County, or altered. That then the Gour shall in tht prticular

                  make such alteraon & order, as he shall conscionably find fltt

                  to be done therein.

            

                    Vppon motion of Mr Thomas Copley touching the Rents of

                  certaine Tenemts in the Mannor of East St maries. The sd Mr

                  Copley desyreth tht he may be authorized to demand &

                  receaue the sd Rents, untill finall determinaon of the difference

                  now depending betweene the Rt Honble the Ld Propr & the sd

                  Mr Copley concerning the sd rents & tenemts or further order

                  from the sd Ld Propr

                    And uppon motion as aforesd Mrs Margarett Brent Attorney

                  for the Ld Propr gaue her consent, tht the sd Mr Copley should

                  haue such order, as is requyred.

                    Whereas seuerall Tenemts in the Mannor of East St Maries,

                  remaine in question betweene the Rt Honble the Ld Propr & Mr

                  Thomas Copley; And tht thereby to the losse of both prties

                  the Rents of them remaine unpayd to eyther. These are wth

                  & by the assent of Mrs Margarett Brent, Attorney for the Ld

                  Propt to authorize the sd Mr Tho: Copley, to receaue all the

                  Rents & profitts of the sd Tenemts & Land Vnder condicon

                  tht if the sd Land uppon deterrninaon of the difference betweene

                  the sd Ld Propr & the sd Mr Copley, shall remaine to him the

                  sd Ld Propr That then he the sd Mr Copley & his successors shall

                  make good all the sd Rents & profltts to the sd Ld Proprs or his

                  heyres, or assignes.

            

                    14o October. Matthyas Bryant deposed sayth, tht sometime

                  in Aprill last, he did in the woods meete an Indian, commonly

                  knowne by the name of Marks, or Moyke, then lyuing att

                  Wicocomoco, who had then actually killed one swine of Mr

                  Tompsons wch this Dept then saw. & further he sayth nott.
