      Court and Testamentary Business, 1648.    423

     

      was altered sometime in the plundering yeare. And to the Liber A.

      best of his knowledge & conscience, he beleiueth tht it is Mr

   ffewicks Cow. & further hee sayth not  Sig:

                                    Charles Rawlinson

          Jurat Cora. Giles Brent.

     

      Thomas Baker (att the request of Blanch Olyur) sayth uppon

      his oath. That a certaine Cow was killed att his Master Popes

      ffort, in time of the troubles here, wch went by the name of

      Blanch Oliurs Cow. Butt who killed or shott tht Cow, bee

      knoweth not. And further he sayth not. Signed

       055 Willm Harditch demandeth of Jno Hatch, & Rich: Banks

          the Admistrators of Tho: Allen deceased 55 l Tob: dew by

       281 Bill, & 226' dew uppon acct

       warrt to the Sheriffe ret Nouembr Court.

     

      Willm Harditch complayneth agst Willm Styles one of the

      Jury for vnnecessary dammage & charge, for tht being one of

      the Jury as aforesd & disassenting from the Verdict wch was

      gyuen into the Court by the foreman, as appeareth by his oath

      declared not unto the Court his disassent thereunto. Wherby

      the sd Harditch was cast in his suite by the Verdict of the Jury,

      & was likewise induced to take the oathes of all the Jury,

      whither they had agreed or floe, in their Verdict. To the cer

      tame charge of the sd Harditch of 449 l Tob & cask. dammages

      I. 140 to the ualew of 1000 l Tob.

      C.449 Warrt to the Sheriffe ret. Nouembr Court.

      Att a Court held      This day came Left Willm Lewis, & de

      att St Maries

      70 Octobris.    syred to haue his Boate adiudged to him,

      Prnt Gouernor   wch was attatched 28th July Ano 1647 & the

          Capt G. Brent .

                   determinning of the cause respited till the

      Tenth of August following. The Deft Henry Moseley of Chi

      cacoan, hauing att noe time untill this day, eyther by himselfe

      or his Attorney made his appearance to answere to the sd

      suite.

      The Court appoynted the Records to be searchd & nothing

      appearing from the sd Moseley in his defence. And Leift Wm

      Lewis hauing made oath in Court, tht he had neuT to the best

      of his knowledge sold, or receaued other satisfaction for the

      forest Boate. Ordered tht he should recout his sd Boate and

      charges Court.
