severall Persons of Qualitie in Anne-Arundel County th^t will
undertake to build a State house Prison & Office at their own
Charge onlie to be Repaid by the Countrey when the Buildings
are finished & to build a House for his Excelency at their owne
Proper Costs & Charges Voted th^t it be necessarie & this
House doe Peticon his Excelencie accordinglie.
In Answ^r to w^ch Vote the Captaine Gen^ll Signifieth to the
Lower house That he having by Writeing allreadie declared
his Choice & the Publick faith being allreadie passed & Con-
ceaving th^t this Last Paper is noe Answ^r to the last Message of
this house touching the Buildings doth not thinke fitte to take
anie further notice of the s^d Paper but th^t the Lower house be
desired to Signifie to this House of what dimensions the s^d
Buildings are to be & then some Persons will Offer themselves
as Undertakers of the same. —
Read here an Act for the Limitacon of Actions ag^t the Sur-
vey^r Gen^ll of this Province and Voted to be read the Second
time. —

Came againe to defend the Errors assigned ag^t him by Jo.
Bailey haveing Craved Libertie of Speaking thereunto this
present day being the first day of this Jnstant June On w^ch
day allsoe Came Jo. Bailey by Rob^t Ridgely his Attorney &
Offered himselfe ag^t the s^d Reymond Stapleford of & upon the
Errors afores^d And the s^d Reymond Stapleford Saith th^t the
afores^d John Bailey ought not to have had a Writ of Error ag^t
him the s^d Stapleford Because he the s^d. Bailey ought to have
Sued the same out before the Execucon was served on him the
s^d Bailey but he the s^d Bailey haveing Elapsed th^t Opertunity
all th^t he the s^d Bailey doth demand of the s^d. Stapleford & the
Upper house of this Present Gen^ll Assembly by Virtue of his
Writ of Error if graunted will appeare as Erroneous as anie of
the Pretended & Assigned Errors ffor Execucon served in Law
being the End & Period of the Law is like death w^th his
Surnons w^ch admittes of noe Bayle or releife. And Hereupon
the s^d. Stapleford Humbly Craveth the Judgm^t of the Upper
house of this present Gen^ll Assembly.
