Chair, Maryland Children's Program Awards Committee, 1976-79. Member, Planning Commission, Baltimore City, 1996-2016; Commission to Review Landlord-Tenant Laws, 1998; State Children's Environmental Health and Protection Advisory Council, 2002-06.


Born in 1936. Attended Baltimore City public schools; Baltimore Hebrew University; Goucher College (returning women program). Former educator and business owner. President, Maryland Association of Counties, 1995 (board of directors, 2008-16; legislative committee; tax subcommittee). Member, National Association of Counties (community & economic development steering committee). Delegate, Democratic Party National Convention, 2000. Member, Baltimore City Democratic Central Committee, 2014-18. Board of Directors, Maryland Science Center; Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc.; Chimes Maryland Foundation; Park West Medical Center. Member, Women's and Children's Advisory Board, Sinai Hospital; Community Advisory Board, Harambee Treatment Center, University of Maryland. Member, Maryland Economic Development Association. Three children, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
