Report to Governor & General Assembly due Dec. 1, 2017 (Chapter 616, Acts of 2017).

In June 2017, the Task Force to Study Tax Sales in Maryland was established (Chapter 616, Acts of 2017).

First, the Task Force will assess what impact tax sales have in Maryland, and examine how such sales are conducted in each county. Also, the Task Force is to consider and evaluate those tax sales used to collect delinquent water charges, and what alternative methods could be used. Finally, the Task Force will make recommendations for reforming the tax sale process in Maryland.

Authorization for the Task Force ends June 30, 2018.
