Final Report to Governor, Senate Budget & Taxation Committee, House Apporpriations Committee, Special Joint Committee on Pensions, & Blue Ribbon Commission to Study Retiree Health-Care Funding Options due June 30, 2011 (Chapter 484, Acts of 2010).
The Public Employees' and Retirees' Benefit Sustainability Commission was authorized in June 2010 (Chapter 484, Acts of 2010). The Commission studied and made recommendations concerning State-funded benefits and pensions for State and public education employees and retirees in Maryland.
For the State Employees' Retirement and Pension System, the State Employee and Retiree Health Benefit Program, and the Teachers' Retirement and Pension System, the Commission evaluated the recruitment practices, retention incentives, actuarial liabilities and funding method, employee contribution levels, and benefit comparability and affordability.
Authorization for the Commission ended June 30, 2012.
