COMMUNICATION & THEATRE ARTS DEPT.
Under College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, functions reassigned to Performing Arts Division, and Mass Communication Department in Sept. 2000.

COMMUNICATIONS & MEDIA RELATIONS
Abolished in 2008. Functions reassigned to University Advancement.

COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPT.
Under College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, renamed Computer Science and Information Technologies Dept. in 2011.

HAGERSTOWN & FREDERICK CENTERS
The Frederick Center closed in 2005. The Hagerstown Center was renamed University System of Maryland Hagerstown Education Center and transferred to University System of Maryland in 2005.

HEALTH, PHYSICAL EDUCATION & RECREATION DEPT.
Under College of Education, reorganized in April 2007 as two departments: Health and Physical Education, and Parks and Recreation Management.

MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (MBA) DEPT.
Under College of Business, merged with Business Administration Department in Aug. 2000 to form Business Management Department.

MILITARY SCIENCE DEPT.
Under School of Education, Military Science Department was abolished in Sept. 1997.

OFFICE OF INFORMATION SERVICES
Renamed Office of Planning and Assessment in 2010.

OFFICE OF PLANNING & ASSESSMENT
Under Academic Affairs Division, renamed Office of Assessment and Institutional Research in Sept. 2015.

PERFORMING ARTS DIVISION
Under College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, abolished in 2006 when programs attained department status.

RECRUITMENT SERVICES
Under Student and Educational Services, abolished in Aug. 2000. Functions assigned to Enrollment Management.

SCHOOL OF ARTS & HUMANITIES
In Aug. 1999, merged with School of Natural and Social Sciences to form College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
Renamed College of Business on July 1, 1999.

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
Renamed College of Education on July 1, 1999.

SCHOOL OF NATURAL & SOCIAL SCIENCES
In Aug. 1999, merged with School of Arts and Humanities to form College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
