ENERGY POLICY, PLANNING & ANALYSIS DIVISION
Energy Policy, Planning and Analysis Division originated as Planning and reformed as Regulatory Strategies and Planning in 2010. It was renamed Energy Market Strategies in 2011, became Policy, Planning and Analysis Division in 2014 and reformed as Energy Policy, Planning and Analysis Division in 2015.

The Division oversaw Data Analysis; Economic Development and Energy Finance; EmPOWER Maryland; Grid Resiliency; and the On-Ramp Program.

Disbanded.

In July 2012, Governor's Energy Advisor was asked to work with specified State agencies in studying ways to strengthen Maryland's electric distribution system (Executive Order 01.01.2012.15). For that purpose, Grid Resiliency Task Force was convened. Its findings and recommendations were submitted to Governor on Sept. 24, 2012.

In June 2013, Maryland Offshore Wind Business Development Advisory Committee was authorized (Chapter 3, Acts of 2013).

Committee made recommendations to Maryland Energy Administration on most effective use of Maryland Offshore Wind Business Development Fund, also established by this statute. Recommendations included specific information on maximizing opportunities for emerging businesses in Maryland, including minority-owned businesses, to participate in offshore wind industry.

Committee's initial recommendations were completed in Dec. 2013, and updates were submitted in Dec. 2014.

Authorization for Committee ended after submission of its final report.
