Bailer Award for Distinguished Career in Education, Western Maryland College, 1985. Member, St. John's Episcopal Church, Ellicott City, Maryland. Married; seven children, one stepchild. Died in Fort Myers, Florida, August 7, 2012. Buried at Trinity Church Cemetery, Church Creek, Maryland.
