In August 2015, the Death with Dignity Work Group was convened by the Chairs of the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee, the House Judiciary Committee, and the House Health and Government Operations Committee.

The Work Group studies and gathers information on issues raised by the Richard E. Israel and Roger "Pip" Moyer Death with Dignity Act (Senate Bill 676, House Bill 1021), which failed to pass in the 2015 legislative session. The Act would have allowed a qualified patient to request assistance from a physician to provide aid in dying.
