ECONOMIC MATTERS COMMITTEE

DEFUNCT SUBCOMMITTEES


BANKING, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY SUBCOMMITTEE
Banking, Economic Development, Science and Technology Subcommittee originated as Science and Technology Subcommittee in 1996. It reorganized under its present name in January 2003. Then, joining with Consumer Protection and Commercial Law Subcommittee, some functions of the two subcommittees merged in Jan. 2019 to form Banking, Consumer Protection and Commercial Law Subcommittee.

CONSUMER PROTECTION & COMMERCIAL LAW SUBCOMMITTEE
In January 2019, restructured as Banking, Consumer Protection and Commercial Law Subcommittee.

DEATHCARE INDUSTRY WORK GROUP
Deathcare Work Group reviewed bills regulating funeral industry, including burials and cremation.

Abolished in 2010.

ELECTRIC UNIVERSAL SERVICE PROGRAM WORK GROUP
Electric Universal Service Program Work Group formed in 2003. It met with a work group of Senate Finance Committee to study whether to recommend termination or extension of Program.

Last met in Feb. 2003.

HEALTH INSURANCE SUBCOMMITTEE
Discontinued in Jan. 2003; functions transferred to Health and Government Operations Committee.

REAL ESTATE & HOUSING SUBCOMMITTEE
Abolished in Jan. 2003; functions transferred to Environmental Matters Committee.

REAL PROPERTY SUBCOMMITTEE
Renamed Real Estate and Housing Subcommittee in 1999.

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY SUBCOMMITTEE
Functions reassigned to Banking, Economic Development, Science and Technology Subcommittee in Jan. 2003.
