Pagt 458. tipov. motion of Mr. Ramsay, seconded by Mr. Miller, it was voted Chief Engineer Shir ley's that the salary of Mr. H. G. Shir ley, 88 Chief Bngineer of the Commission, salary increased. be increased from $6,000.00 to $6,000.00 per annum, to take effect from April 1st, 1913. Hon. Bdwin Warfield, Contractor on Contract #206, for the Daisy Former action of tho Road, in Howard County, built under State Aid, appeared before the Commis-Commiscion, relative to the claim of Governor sion, accompanied, by Mr. W. W. Orosby, to protest against a deduction of vmrfleld, Contractor on the Iialsy Road, Contract 5 cents per square yard, amounting to Jl,£60.39, as approved by the #206, ratified. Commission on December 80th, 1912. After a discussion of the matter with Mr. %rfleld and Mr. Crosby, and after careful consideration of all the facts and the records, the former action of the Commission was .ratified, and tie Chairman was instructed to so notify Mr. Ifarfield. After discussion of the question of closing to travel State Roads being improved with concrete, it was the sense of the mooting Closing state Roads while that this is necessary until the concrete can be properly cured and being improved with con- orote. the matter was left in tho hands of the Chairman and of tho Chief Bngineer to handle in their discretion, and to meet the conditions in each particular case. Upon motion of Mr. Ramsay, seconded by Mr. Goslin, the final Approval of recomnenda- estimate of $12,330.29, on our Contract #264, -for the improvement of of Chief Engineer Shir ley, relative to final pcynentPennington Avenue, in Anne Arundel County, due the Hassam paving Company on Contract #^64. Contractors, was approved, and the State's share of this State Aid Con- tract, amounting to $6165.14, as recommended by Chief Engineer Shirley in his letter of March 15th, 1913, was ordered paid. Chief Sngineer Shirley 's further recommendation that the road be accepted and turned over to the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County, for maintenance, was alao; Upon motion of Mr. Miller, seconded by Mr. Ramsay, the final estimate Final estimate on Con- of $8585.38 on our Contract #0202, for the improvement of the road be- tract $0202, J. 3.
