RoJA Page 393. Mr. Lloyd moved that the Chairman be requested to reply to a communication from Mr. Vinton D. Cookey, Asst. Ch. Engineer Inquiry as to grade of York Rd. of the Roland Park Company, asking for information as to the fr.City Line to Cold Spg.La. grade of the York Road from the City Line to Gold Spring Lane, stating that this information will be furnished as soon as plans for this work are completed. The motion being seconded by Dr. Remsen, was adopted. Payment of $770.70 to Juniata Paving Company. f Plan of Montgomery Co. for maintenance of State Roads. Question of improvement of Laytonsville & Kensington ?.ds, referred to Counsel. Supplemental Agreement on Contract #oi83. Removal of drum for testing bricks. Claim of Lawrence J. Whalen. Liquidated damages on Contract #0104 - Juniata Paving Co.-waived. On motion of Mr. Shoemaker, seconded by Dr. Remsen, the Chairman's action in paying the Juniata Paving Company $770.70 in settlement of all claims for expenses due to shortening contract #044 in Cecil County, premium on bond, etc., was approved. Dr. Clark moved that the plan submitted by the County Commissioners of Montgomery County for the maintenance of improved State Roads in said County be referred to the Chief Sngineer with the request that he report to the Commission. The motion being seconded by Mr. Shoemaker, was adopted. Dr. Remsen moved that the applications of the County Commiseioners of Montgomery County for State Aid in the improvement and repair of the Laytonsville and lower portion of the Kensington Roads, be referred to the Counsel, to ascertain whether State Aid can be furnished on roads already improved under the State Aid Law. The motion was seconded by Mr. Button, and adopted. On motion of Dr. Clark, seconded by Dr. Remsen, the question of the execution of supplemental agreement covering work done on Contract #0183 (Harford Road) after November let, by Mr. P. F. Heddlngton, was referred to the Chairman and Counsel, with power. Dr. Clark moved that the plan for removing the drum used by the State Roads Commission in its laboratory for testing brick, be referred to Dr. Remsen, with the request that he report in the matter. The motion was seconded by Mr. Shoemaker, and adopted. On motion of Ur. Shoemaker, seconded by Mr. Lloyd, the Chairman was requested to notify Mr. J. Howard Fox, Counsel for Lawrence J. Whalen, in the matter of claim for $36.75 for expenses in connection with removing roller from the Little Gunpowder Creek, that this Commission is advised by its Counsel that it is not liable for the damages claimed. Dr. Remsen moved that the deduction of $670. for extra cost of inspection on Contract #0104 in Queen Anne's County from the final estimate to the Juniata Paving Company, as recommended by the Chief Sngineer, be waived, in view of the fact that an extension of time to October 1st, 1911, was granted on this Ajpntraot* The motion was second** Iqr Mr. Lloyd, and adopted*
