Page 349, Baltimore, Md., September 16th, 1911, Sixty-third Meeting, Present. Messrs. Thomas & Hoen to name Auditing Company. Character of asphalt to be used on Contract f.0££4. A Special Meeting of the State Roads Commission was held at its offices, Union Trust Building, Baltimore, Lid,, tuis Saturday, September 16th, 1911, at 10:30 ... M. Present: Governor Crothers, Chairman Tucker, I.lossrs. Shoemaker and Hutton. Governor Crothers moved that Ilessrs. Douglas H. Thomas and Prank If. Hoen be asked to name an Auditing Company to audit the accounts of the State Roads Commission, and that said audit be completed before Hovenber 1st, 1911. The motion was seconded by Lir. Shoemaker, and adopted. Governor Crothers moved, in order to meet the request of the City, and on advices from the City us to the character of asphalt desired for the completion of Contract ;;-0254 on Garrison Avenue by October 1st, 1911, this Commission, will accept either Texas or California Asphalt which will comply with the City's specifications, provided a five /ears' guarantee for maintenance is given in case of tiie asphalt used "by the Contractor. The notion was seconded by llr. Hutton, and adopter. On motion of l.Ir. Shoemaker, seconded by :.Ir. Hutton, the Chief Engineer's reco:."x:endation as to tho pa,/uont in advance to P. F. Connolly, Contractor, of $3500., said amou.it being a portion of the withhold 10^ on Contract --0151, was approved, provided the bondsman on this work accedes to same. Chairman Tucker submitted to t-io Board communications from the Chief Engineer regarding tho slo\7 progress being made by the Highways Construction Company on Contract ?«014o in Allegany County and 7f0211 in Washington County, and stated that he had notified the Contractor and its bondsman that tho condition of this work was not satisfactory to the Commission. Ilr. Shoemaker moved, unless some satisfactory assurance ie given by the contractor as to tho proper completion of this work, that the Chairman be authorized to notify the Bonding Company on these contracts that it will be held responsible for same. The motion was seconded by Lir. Hutton, and adopted. On motion of Mr. Hutton, seconded by Lir. Shoemaker, the fMLoefer of Reisterstown Pike. Chairman was instructed to use all proper means to hurry the transfer to the State Roads Commission of tho Roisterstovm Turnpike. $$600. advanced on Contract #0131 in Prince Geo,Co, Slow progress of work on Con- traote of Highways Const.Co.
