Co. on State Hoad #1. Bids on Old Court Rd.(#245). Award of Contr.#245 to 3. P. Lindsay recommended. Statements on Contr.#0232 and 0235 ordered paid. t) Dr. Rernsen moved approval of the recommendation of the County Commissioners of Carroll County for an extension of time of thirty days from date on Contract #216 (Uniontown Road) Messrs. Walsh Bros., Contractors, as requested by said County Commissioners. The motion was seconded by lor. Lloyd, and adopted. Communications from Messrs. Geo. C. Morrison, Chae. H. Schnepfe, Jr., and Clarence i7. Perkins, requesting the Com-miesion to reopen negotiations with the Heieterstown Turnpike Company, and that a larger amount be offered for the Pike, was brought to the attention of the Board. On motion of Governor Crothers, seconded by Dr. Remsen, it was agreed that the State Roads Comniesion stand on its former offer of $60,000. for the City end of the Heisterstown Pike, comprising about two miles, and theee gentlemen so notified. A delegation from Anne Arundel County with I,Ir. James S. Smith r.s spokesman, requested the Commission to arrange to put in better condition the road between Owings and Mt. Zion, stating that if the entire road could not bo surfaced at the present time that the portions at Tucker's Hill, Mt. Zion School House #9 and in front of Wm, Hall's gate should be repaired. Dr. Remcen moved that the assurance of the State Roads Commicsion be given the United Railv/ays & Electric Company that it wi 1 not object to the laying of its tracks along State Road #1, provided said tracks are laid to the satisfaction and under the supervision of this Commission. The motion was seconded by Governor Crothers, and adopted. The following bids were received by the County Commissioners of Baltimore County on the Old Court Road, Contract #245, and forwarded to the Commission for its recommendation: •7. H. Clagett, ........... ....$26692.30 Thos. C. Forsythe, 23486.38 Fisher & Carozza,............. 26540.35 "3.P. Lindsay, 20927.76 Freoh & Alien, ............... 26638.50 Governor Crothers moved that the County Commissioners be advised that the State Roads CommlBeion recommends the award of Contract #245 to H. P. Lindsay at the amount of his bid, $20927.76. The motion was seconded by Mr. Button, and adopted. On motion of Dr. Ttemsen, seconded by Mr. Lloyd, statements were ordered paid for work done during the absence of an inspector on Contract $0232 from May 15th to 31st, amounting to $1508.14, and on Contract #0235 from April 16th to'30th, amounting to $974,79.
