Fags 251. those entered into in 1909 by the contractors, and revised by the Chairman, Counsel and Chief Engineer, notifying the contractors that they must assume responsibility for any defects that may appear in their work next Spring, be entered into in each respective case. The motion was seconded by T»r. Clark, and adopted. The Chairman stated to the Board some facts regarding the Question of bridge over placing of a bridge over Elk Creek in Elkton, and on motion of ^r. Elk Creek referred to Chair. Clark, seconded by Kr. Mutton, the question was referred to the Chairman for report. The motion was adopted. The Chairman read to the ^oard a communication from Fon. J. "Barry Mahool, requysting that iron poles "he usad instead of wooden poles on all City Streets to be improved "by the Commission. Dr. Clark moved that the Chairman be authorized to reply to the Mayor's lettsr, stating that this Commission did not consider the substitution wise, and that the additional cost would have to be "borne by the City. The motion was seconded by "*T. shoemaker, and adopted. Mayor's request that Iron Poles be used on City Sts Bill for culvert on Owings-Mt. Zion Road approved. A bill from the county Commisei oners of Anne Arundel County for $9.25, for replacing culvart on the Owings-T't. fion Road at station 252, was submitted to the ^oard for its approval. !)r. Clark moved that said bill "be paid. The motion was duly seconded by "r. Shoemaker, and adopted. The United Railways ?c Electric Company addressed a communication to the Commission, stating that they desired to borrow a quantity of rail from the State Roads Commission for use on their pratt Street work. Mr. Shoemaker moved that the request of the Railways Company be £^ran^ed. The motion v/as seconded by nr. Clark, and adopted. Mr. Shoemaker moved that the action of the Chairman in Order for special track lay- placing an order for special track lay-outs to be used on the outs on Liberty Rd. approved. Liberty Road with the Pennsylvania Steal Company, "be approved. The motion was seconded by Dr. Clark, and adopted. Borrow of rail by U.Rwys. Company for use on Pratt St. Extra charge by P.F.Flani-gan for removal of trees on Harford Road. The Chairman read a communication from ?'r. p. -\ & Sons, contractors on the Harford Road, regarding the extra cost involved by the removal of trees on this contract. ¥.r» Shoemaker moved that Mr. Planigan "be informed that the State Roads Commission recognizes the fairness of his proposition and that if this extra work is billed separately to the commission, it will be considered and fairly dealt with. The motion was seconded by Dr. Clark, and adopted.
