| Page 209. A P T T! R RECESS. Awarding of Contract #0303 in Carroll County left with y Chairman. Awarding of Contract #022 in St. Mary's County left with Chairman. The Commission reconvened at 1:30 P. M. for the purpose of awarding or rejecting bids on work in the foregoing counties. Oh motion of Mr. shoemaker, seconded by Governor Crothers, it was apreed that the matter of the awarding of Contract #o202 in pr~) Carroll County, be left with the Chairman to endeavor to secure a reduction On the price of excavation in the bid of M. "Rennett & sons. Governor Crothers moved that the awarding of Contract #022 in St. Mary's County, be left with the Chairman, provided he can have Mr. Thomas Mull an reduce his price on concrete to engineer's estimate . Mr. Shoemaker seconded the motion, which was adopted. Chairman to secure reduction On motion of Mr. Shoemaker, duly seconded, it was agreed in bid prices on Contracts that the Chairman confer with Mr. George M. ^rech as to a reduction Nos. 0142 & 0143. in his bid prices on Contracts NOB. 0142 and 0143, in Allegany County. Bids on Oontraot #0160 rejected. Bids on Contract #0132 rejected. Monies due II. 0. Hunter on Contract #0101 to be sent to European-American Bank. Survey ordered for bridge aorose Nantiooke River at Sharptown. Purchase of Liberty Road between Book' s Lane and Horth Branch. Governor Crothers moved that all bids on Contract #0160 in Garrett County, be rejected. The motion was duly seconded and adopted. Governor Crothers moved that all bids for work on Contract #0132 in Prince George's County, be rejected. Mr. Shoemaker seconded the motion, which was adopted. Mr. N. C. Hunter, Contractor on State Road No. 0101, in Queen Anne's County submitted an order, duly executed by him, authorizing the State Roads Commission to mail all estimates, checks and vouchers for monies due or to grow due on said contract, to said Mr. jnmter at the office of the European-American Bank, Dey and Greenwich Streets in the City of New York, and requesting that no other payments whatever be made except monies due or to become due to the Birdsboro Stone Company, under an agreement heretofore filed with the Commission. On motion, duly seconded and adopted, it was agreed that this matter be referred to the Chairman and Counsel to the Commission, with power. On motion, duly seconded, it was ordered that a survey be made for a bridge across the Nanticoke River at Sharptown. The motion was adopted. Governor Crothers moved that the Liberty Road between Buck's Lane and North Branch be purchased by the state Roads Commission at the price of $5000. provided the County Commissioners of Baltimore County agree to maintain said portion of the Liberty Road after It is taken ov»r by the State until such time as it may be improved; and subject |
