Page 122. Baltimore, September 16th, 1909. Sixtieth Meeting. Present. Reading and Approval of Minutes. Awarding of Contract for Road from Sykesville to West Friendship in Howard County. Blue Prints and Specifications for State Road in Washington County. Communication from Laura-ville Improvement Assoc. Warrant of Chairman. Rescinding of Motion in regard to state roads in Montgomery County. Construction of One Mile of Road in Montgomery County, O A Special Meeting of the State Roads Commission was held Thursday, September 16, 1909, at its offices, Union Trust Building, Baltimore, Md., at 10 o'clock A. ?r. Present': Governor Crothers, Chairman Tucker, Messrs. Hutton and Shoemaker. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. Mr. Shoemaker moved a reconsideration of the action of the Commission at the last two meetinrs regarding the road in Howard County. Governor Crothers seconded the motion, which was adopted. Mr, Shoemaker moved that the contract for building a State Road in Howard County from Sykesville to West Friendship be awarded to M. Pennett & Sons, Indiana, Pa., at their reduced price of 60 cents per cubic yard for excavation. Motion seconded by Governor Crothers and adopted. Governor Crothers moved that blue-prints and specifications be prepared for 10 miles of State Road in Washington County, running from tli^ end of the improved road at St. Paul «s Church West of Conococheague Bridge and extending over the TJational Pike. The motion was seconded by ?£r. Shoemaker and adopted. The Chairman read a communication from the Lauraville Improvement Association, under date of September 10, 1909, regarding the laying of pipes on the Harford Road, and the matter was referred to the Counsel. Mr. Shoemaker moved that the Chairman bo authorized to draw his warrant upon the Comptroller of the Treasury for One Hundred Thousand (100,000) Dollars, to meet contracts maturing. The motion was seconded by Mr. Hutton and adopted. Mr. Hutton moved that the recent motions at the last two meetings of the Commission regarding the construction of State 'Roads in Montgomery County, be rescinded. The motion was seconded by Governor Crothers, and adopted. i Governor Crothers moved that the Commission proceed to construct one mile of Road in Montgomery County under the direction of Mr. Hutton, under such plans as he sees fit, and that he be authorized to purchase the necessary tools and employ such labor as is necessary to commence this work, and that the machinery necessary for said work be authorized by the Commission from time to time as may be needed, the said road commencing at the end of the fin-
