Dr. Clark moved that the Commission re-advertise for sealed proposals in the counties for which bide had been rejected, viz: Worcester, Somerset, 4-1/2 miles in Caroline, Talbot, Queen Anne's and St. Mary's counties. Dr. Remsen seconded the motion, which was adopted. Dr. Remsen moved that the commission proceed in accordance with the plans, for the grading of the roads in the counties of Calvert, Anne Arundel and st. Mary's. The motion was seconded by Mr. Hutton and adopted. At 10:30 o'clock A. M. the Commission took a Recess to allow a meeting' of the Geological Survey commission. At 11 o'clock A. M. the Commission re-convened. The Chairman presented a number of bills for the consideration of the commission for advertising, printing and expenses. The bills follow; V. W. Power, Jr., ........... Mr. Shoemaker moved that in view of the fact that the amount of work required of the Counsel is greater than was anticipated when his present salary was originally fixed, It Is Resolved that the Salary of the Counsel be increased to $2500. per annum, it being understood that this is to be regarded as full payment for all legal services rendered by him as Counsel to the Commission, Governor Crothers offered as an amendment that the salary be fixed at $2000. per annum for all legal services, and that if there are any more condemnation proceedings in addition to the one contemplated in Baltimore county, under discussion, that the Counsel be paid the additional sum of $500. for such services. The amendment was seconded by Dr. Remsen, and adopted.
