| Page 72. "Election of Counsel. Motion to adjourn. Dr. Remeen moved the election of I'.r. Carville D. Benton, as Counsel to the Commission, for one year, with the understanding that the question of his compensation be taken up "by the Commission on Tuesday, June 1st., 1909. Governor Crothers seconded the motion, which was adopted. On motion of Dr. Remsen, seconded by Governor Crothers, the Commission adjourned to meet Tuesday, June 1st., 1909, at 10 o'clock Adjournment. A special meeting of the Slate Roads Comma;, ion was held this Thursday, May 2?th., 1909, at its offices, Union Trust Building, Baltimore, Maryland, at twelve o'clock, Noon- Present: Governor Crothers, Chainr.an Tucker, Messrs.Remsen, Shoemaker, Hut ton and Clark. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting of the Commission \vae dispensed with. At the hour of 12 o'clock, Noon, the Commission proceeded to open Bids for the construction of 23 sections of State Highway, aggregating about 46 miles, as follows: CECIL COUNTY: from Oakwood to Porter's Bridge, three (3) miles, in one section: Delaware River Quarry & Const'n Co. Rickey-Swann-Cora:,any, Trenton, N.J. M. F. McDowell, Port Deposit, Md-Fisher & Carozza, Baltimore, Md.
