142 high displeasure of almighty God to the Evill Example of all others in such Case offending Contrary to the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is ^his^ good Rule and Government and against the form of the act of assembly in Such lately made and provided &a Test Marg.tt Causey Mitchell Dashiell One the Backside of the foregoing Bill of Indictment it was thus Endorsed viz.t Billa vera Edm.d Hough Foreman Thereupon Command was given to the Sheriffe of Somerset County that he Should take the Said Daniel Rhodes if &a to answer &a and afterwards to witt the Sixteenth day of March anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty five before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset now here held at dividing Creek in and for the same County Came the said Daniel Rhodes in his proper person according to a Certain Recognizance by him and his Security before acknowledged and had a hearing of the Indictment afd and being Instantly demanded how he would acquitt himselfe of the premisses afd above upon him Imposed whereof form afd hew is convict thirty shillings Curr.t money of maryland for the use of the County and that the said Daniel Rhodes be taken to Satisfie his said Lordship of the fine afd &a Whereupon the said Daniel Rhodes is ordered by the Court to give security to save and keep Endempnified the Justices of Somerset County and their Successors for the time being from all Costs Charges troubles and Burthens that might accrew by the means of the birth &a of a bastard Child Lately begott and born of the body of Margarett Causey &a Thereupon the said Daniel Rhodes with James Givans of Somerset County planter his security both present herein Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves ^Indebted unto his Lordship^ in thirty pounds Sterling Each of their goods and Chattells Lands and tenements to the Use of the County of Somerset to be made and Levied If it happen that the afd Daniel Rhodes his heirs Executors and adm.rs or any of them do and shall not from time to time and at all times forever hereafter acquit discharge and Save harmless as well the Justices of Somerset Somerset County Court and their Successors as also the Inhabitants of the Same County from all Costs Charges and troubles whatsoever for or by reason of the birth maintainance Nourishing and bringing up of the said Child and of and from all other suits Charges troubles and demands whatsoever touching or Concerning of the |
