Ellen to my Grand Daughter Susan A. Jenkins and there being some doubt as to the validity of her right Therefore in order to remove all doubt and to confirm the bequest to the said Susan A. Jenkins I Susannah Brown of Howard County state of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one Dollar to me in hand paid by susan A. Jenkins the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and delivered and by these presents do bargain and sell and deliver unto susan A. Jenkins all my right title interest claim and demand in and to the unexpired time of the said Ellen Negro slave whose time of service will end on the Twelfth day of March Eighteen hundred and seventy one when she shall be free as will more fully appear by a deed of Manumission recorded n the clerks office of Howard county court To Have and To Hold the said unexpired time of the said slave and all my right title and interest unto the said Susan A. Jenkins her Executors Administrators and assigns forever. In Testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals this second day of March Eighteen hundred and fifty five her signed sealed and delivered Susannah x Brown (seal) in the presence of mark Ignatius Waters J.
