240 in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty seven before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the said State in and for the County aforesaid personally appeared John H. M.cCartney named in the foregoing Bill of Sale and made oath in due form of law that the consideration in the said BIll of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth Sworn before C. W. Maught State of Maryland Howard County to wit: I hereby certify that on this eighth day of June one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven personally appeared L. D. Jones before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said County and acknowledge the foregoing bill of sale to be his act C. W. Maught Rec.d to be recorded on the 27.th day of June 1857 same day recorded & Examined per W. H. Worthington Clk
the peace in and for said County a dark Iron Grey Mare about 7 or 8 years old about 14 hands high has been worked in gears from marks visible on her a blind Bridle on her alls Given under my hand Ignatius Water J. sixty one cents with interest from the date hereof and in consideration thereof and also of the sum of five dollars do hereby bargain and sell unto the said William A. Webb the following property to wit one Grey Horse; one black Mare |
