257 I hereby certify that on this third day of February 1857 personally appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for Dorchester County aforesaid Josiah Bayley and acknowledges the foregoing Bill of Sale to be his act at the same time appeared before me Alexander H. Bayley the vendee therein named and made oath in the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration therein mentioned is true and bona-fide as therein set forth Samuel W. Lecompte J. P. Lloyd Harris & Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the John Stanley following Bill of Sale was received and recorded of the Paid from 9th day of February 1857 to wit Moses Stanley I Moses Stanley of Dorchester County in Consideration of Seventy five dollars paid me by Lloyd Harris & John Stanley of Same County do hereby bargain and sell to the Said Lloyd Harris & John Stanley one Horse gilding called Huffington nearly black. Witness my hand and Seal this 9th day of February 1857. Test Charles Corkran Moses Stanley (Seal) State of Maryland Dorchester County, to wit I hereby Certify that on this 9th day of February 1857 personally appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace for Said County Moses Stanley & acknowledged the aforegoing Bill of Sale to be his act Charles Corkran delivered to Lloyd Harris the 16th day of Feby 1857 Daniel Sampson Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified √ from that the following ^mortgage^ Bill of Sale was received & David Stafford Recorded on the 4th day of February 1857 to wit: I David Stafford of Dorchester County Maryland being now indebted to Daniel Sampson of Dorchester County Maryland in the sum of two hundred dollars with interest from the 28th day of February January 1857 in consideration thereof do hereby bargain and sell to the said Daniel Sampson the following property 2 Mares 3 Oxen 1 Cow 1 Heifer 2 Ox Carts Blade and Top Fodder Corn 1 Carriage Ploughs Harrows and 1 Milk House together with all the Household and Kitchen Furniture now in my possession Provided that if I the said David Stafford shall pay to the said Daniel Sampson the said Sum of two hundred dollars with the interest thereof on or before the 28th day of January 1858 then these presents shall be void.
