Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed House Bill 326.

This bill authorizes the County Commissioners of Dorchester County, rather than the
Board of Recreation and Parks, to appoint a Director of Recreation and Parks. The bill
also makes all persons involved in recreation and parks activities County employees,
rather than board employees.

Senate Bill 467, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on April 11,
1995, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 326.

AN ACT concerning

Dorchester County - Recreation and Parks - Employment Practices

FOR the purpose of authorizing the County Commissioners of Dorchester County, rather
than the Board of Recreation and Parks, to appoint a Director of Recreation and
Parks; providing that the Director shall serve at the pleasure of the County
Commissioners; making certain functions of the Board of Recreation and Parks
advisory; altering certain provisions governing employment of certain personnel;
making stylistic changes; and generally relating to employment matters in
Dorchester County concerning recreation and parks personnel.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
