61. State of Maryland Be it remembered that the following Bond was 65 from Ex.d recorded on the 2.d day of March 1848, To wit: William Kirby & others {Stamp} Know all men by these presents that we {one dol & half} William Kirby, Thomas Harper & John E. Roszell are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the just and full sum of Three thousand dollars current money to be paid to the said state or its certain Attorney for which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves and each of us our and each of our heirs, executors and Administrators firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this 1.st day of March in the year of Our Lord 1848. The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bounden William Kirby shall well and truly execute the Office of Coroner in all things thereto belonging; and shall also well & faithfully execute and return all writs or other process to him directed; and shall also pay and deliver to the person or persons entitled to receive the same all sums of Money and all goods & Chattels by him levied seized or taken agreeably to the directions of the writ or other process under which the same shall have been levied, seized or taken; and also shall keep and detain in safe custody all and every person or persons committed to his custody or by him taken in execution or who shall be committed for want of bail without suffering them or any of them to escape or depart from his custody; and shall also satisfy and pay all Judgments which shall be rendered against him as Coroner; and shall also well and truly execute and perform the several duties required of or imposed upon him by the laws of the state of Maryland then this obligation to be void and of none effect else to be and remain in full force and virtue in law. Court Richard Bowley & Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was John Bowley recorded on the 9.th day of March 1848, To wit: Paid from Ex.d Know all men by these presents that I Major Bowley Major Bowley of Dorchester County and state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars current money of Maryland to me in hand paid by Richard Bowley & John Bowley of the said County and state at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Major Bowley |
