58. We the subscribers two of the Justices of the Peace in and for Dorchester County by virtue of supplement to an act entitled an Act for the establishment and regulation of the Levy Courts in the several Counties of this State have appointed Robert Bell Constable for the Town of Cambridge in the place of David M. Todd who has resigned. Witness our hands and seals this nineteenth day of February 1848. To the Clerk of Gardner Bayley (Seal) Dorchester County Court W.m W. Le Compte (Seal) {Stamp} Know all men by these presents that we Robert Bell Francis {one dol.} I. Henry and William A. Sulivane of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland are held & firmly bound unto the state of Maryland in the full and just sum of Two thousand dollars current money of the United States to be paid to the said State or its Attorney to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves, our heirs, Executors and Administrators jointly & severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with out seals and dated this 19.th day of February 1848. The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden Robert Bell shall well and truly execute the Office of Constable of Cambridge in Dorchester County in all things appertaining thereto and shall well and truly account for all monies placed in his hands for collection and shall also well and truly pay all sums of Money received by him then the above obligation to be void otherwise of full force & virtue in law. Sulivane (L S) Dorchester County, To wit: On the 19.th day of February 1848 personally appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid Thomas H. Hicks and Charles L Hooper and made the following Oath, To wit: We Thomas H. Hicks and Charles L Hooper subscribing Witnesses to the above Bond do make Oath that Robert Bell, Francis I. Henry and William A. Sulivane obligors mentioned in the said Bond did severally in our presence sign, seal and deliver the said Bond as their Act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned.
